In general, spam calls are on the rise. According to statistics, every second call you receive this year will be a spam call. When you should be wary most?
“They call me literally every day,” complains a thirty-four-year-old Sandra. “Lately, I’ve almost become afraid of picking up a phone!”
She’s not the only one. Spam calls are on the rise and this trend won’t seem to stop. So we did some digging to find out which day of the week you should be most cautious when answering an unknown call. Here’s what we found out.
Beware of working hours
Even when it doesn’t look that way, spammers follow a certain pattern when trying to reach you. According to our statistics, they usually call from Monday to Thursday after 10 AM and before 3 PM. It makes sense, since even a call centre has its “working hours”.
These spam calls usually reach their peak on Thuesday. On the contrary, on Friday spam calls let up and almost stop on weekends.
… and then there are these robocalls
Of course. This pattern is only applicable when it comes to “standard spam calls” (like vacation or insurance offers, charity calls or real estate agent spam). However, it’s a little bit more complicated than that.
It’s all because of robocalls. Robocalls are automated calls that don’t follow any pattern. They can reach you anytime, even in the middle of the night. And in only one minute, there can be thousands of them.
The result? We are not certain of the day or of the hour. Because even when there is a certain pattern when it comes to standard spam calls, robocalls are completely unpredictable. And there are more of them every second.
Don’t want them to wake you up at 3 AM again? Get an effective spam blocker. And get rid of spam calls for good.
